Doomsday Key debuts at #2 on NYT
Friday, July 03, 2009

I just learned that The Doomsday Key will debut at the #2 spot on the New York Times bestsellers list. I've never hit so high before, and I know it's all because of YOU out there. This just proves I have the coolest readers in the world! THANKS for spreading the word to friends and families, for being so vocal and supportive about the books. Out on the road during the tour, I met a great-grandmother, who told her daughter about the books, who in turn told her son, who came with his ten-year-old boy to get his copy of Jake Ransom signed. How cool is that? As a writer, there's no greater honor.
It's been a huge pleasure meeting so many of you out on the first leg of the tour (by the way, several of you took pictures and I'd love to share them here...so send them when you can!) And Jennie, thanks for the cookies and fudge. Here's a picture Jennie took of me in Phoenix. That's Clive Cussler behind me signing. It was so generous of him to share the event. As to my picture in the photo below, are my forearms really that hairy?!?

THANKS again! Have a great and safe Fourth of July!! You've all certainly made my holiday brighter!
Jim

Congratulations! It's a well deserved honor, you've truly earned it. Thank you for creating a fascinating world for us readers to escape to. Just one question - What did Thor and Berry say when you rubbed in debuting at #2? ;)

Congrats, Jim! You deserve it. I love the description in the NYT. Couldn't they make it more generic? And hairy is in! Look at Wolverine.

Awesome! It is about time they woke up to the fact that your books are the best. I agree with Boyd's comment above. Couldn't they have done a bit better on the description?

Jim, I read the book and loved every bit of it. I revisit history and geography lessons with your books, only your books are less boring than the classes! As a fan I hope the book hits the #1 spot. You deserve it. I am looking forward to the next book. B.t.w. your hairy arms look cool too. Ciao Gabriella

Hi, I loved your latest book! Congradulations on hitting #2. The character development was great and the way you integrate historical facts is facinating. Your books are very worth the little spare time I have to read! I hope to see another movie made from them!

you would have loved it. 630AM, the quiet village of Na'alehu HI. Two 60 plus adventuresome souls, in bed with coffee and dueling JR books. Thanks for the ride!

From the bottom of the heart I congratulate you, Jim, on this pleasant event. As soon as this book will appear in Russia, I am obligatory its purchase. Your books - the miracle is simple. In them there is everything that so does not suffice in a usual life. Thanks that give us adventures.

I am so glad that this new book hit #2 spot. I always thought your book would be up there soon. My daughter and I have started reading all your books ever since first that "Excavation" came out. I just signed up on the newletter of this site and write the exact the same thing, but really, I do love and enjoy your style. It is like taking a long far away vacation from my daily crazy life, with actual actions, I love and love and love all those. Please keep writing the story in your style. Please come back to Pasadena Broder's again to have little appearance like in this picture.

I just finished The Doomsday Key (like, an hour ago) and without a doubt, it deserves the praise it gets. A friend of mine turned me on to your books, and I have read all the thrillers over the past 8 weeks or so, in the order they were first published, and it has been a joy to watch you grow as a writer through every novel. I'll be through the fantasy series before long, so please hurry up and get to work on the next Sigma Force novel. LOL Seriously, keep up the great work and thanks so much for the exact entertainment I've been looking for!

Love your books! Just finished Doomsday Key and it's one of my favourites from you!! (Can't decide whether I like DDK or Sandstorm more...ah well, love them all =D) The only thing is the ending of DDK is leaving me in great agony as I'll have to wait until next year to find out who is that "awaking lioness" (I did my best not to include any spoilers but I got to ask this question!!!)

I have to say, I love your books! I stumbled upon the Judas Strain at costco one day and I was immediately hooked on the series. Since then I've read all of your books and they are all fantastic. Keep up the good work.
