Steve Berry channels Jan Brady
Thursday, December 24, 2009
Just thought I'd pop in here and give everyone a head's up about a "guest reviewer" who posted a review of Altar of Eden on the Amazon's website. I had previously posted a review of Steve Berry's latest novel (The Paris Vendetta), and he was kind enough to return the favor. Though "kind" may be too generous a word. It's a tongue-in-cheek review that's well worth checking out, especially if you read the review with voice of Jan Brady (from The Brady Bunch) playing in your head. The line "Rollins, Rollins, Rollins" reminded me of Jan's famous frustration with her older sister (Marcia, Marcia, Marcia). Or maybe that's just me. Anyway, check it out here.
And because it is Christmas Eve (and by now we've all watched WAY too many Christmas specials), here's a take on the WORST Christmas specials of all time. Grab a glass of eggnog and enjoy!
Enough nostalgia.
Let me take this last moment to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and a brand-spanking great 2010! I'll be on the road right after the New Year for the book tour for Altar of Eden, so I hope to see everyone out there. You can find a list of book tour stops (many of them with the infamous Steve Berry) on the Appearance page of the site here.
Now I must sign off as I have presents still to wrap and stockings to hang (with care).
Jim

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well Jim! Only two more days until the book is out, I'm so excited. Do you ever travel to the midwest area? I ask only because I'm in Michigan, very rural, and I would love the chance to get one of my books of yours signed. Happy Holidays!

Should have read the review by Steve Berry before commenting, so halarious. How great though, that your friend and competitor (if I may say) gave you a standing ovation. Bravo!

Bought both The Paris Vendetta and Altar of Eden. Think it is great that both Steve and yourself are braving companionship over an extended tour time inside the USA. Mr. Berry's review for AOE seems uncharacteristically animated! He must be feeling more comfortable with this exposure "thing"...next he'll be getting A Blog on his site with Facebook, Twitter and hyperlinks...Steve Berry, Steve Berry, Steve Berry. Where's Brad Thor these days?

Can't wait to hear the Audio Book of Alter of Eden... I love listening to your books acted out on the way to and from work. It makes the commute so much better and much less road rage a going on! I have been know, tho, to go out on the weekend and sit in the car and listen to what comes next on the more exciting bits! It's hysterical and I do feel a little goofy just sitting there listening. It gets quite a few looks in the parking lot at work, too!
