One Contest Ends and another Begins!

It’s time to announce the winner of the Immortalization contest. First, THANKS to everyone who participated. I was truly thrilled and honored to see so much creativity and time invested. It made the book tour even more enjoyable because in every city at least one person came decked out in logo gear. It brought many smiles to my face.
And I have to say, you ALL made it tough to pick a winner. That’s why it’s taken me this long to choose. The only way I could settle this contest was to expand the prize pool. So I picked one grand-prize winner, who will be immortalized by name in the next Sigma book…and four honorable mentions who will receive some signed special edition books.
So drum roll please!
First, the grand-prize winner is JOSH LEBLANG. He showed up at one of my signings with a torn up Sigma t-shirt, which was cool enough, then he turned around and showed me the blank back of his shirt. And I was like, Okay, so? Then a friend of his lifted up an ultraviolet light and the Guild symbol appeared glowing an eerie blue. He had hand-drawn a beautiful rendition of the symbol in invisible ink on the back of the t-shirt that only appeared under UV illumination. So in appreciation of the “science” behind his design, the artistry of his rendition (which sadly I did a poor job capturing), and the cleverness of incorporating the Guild’s pattern of hiding their symbol on their agents, I picked Josh.

But there were so many other great designs that I couldn’t stop just there. So here are four honorable mentions:
(1) Alexa and Hannah Juarez, for their deconstruction of a tote bag into a multi-purpose Sigma utility kit! Batman is surely jealous.

(2) Clare and Kimberley Davies, a mother and daughter team (I love that the books can be shared by a family). Claire, for permanently inking herself with the Sigma symbol…I’m truly honored! And Kimberley for the dressed-up teddy bear. Kowalski put a gun against my head and told me to pick her. And yes, he wants that teddy bear for his own collection.

(3) Mary, for her clever conversion of the gear and the GREAT Seichan pose!

(4) Deedra Mann, for the detail work of including ALL the books in one t-shirt. Plus she was the very first piece of work I saw on the road.

And I have to say it was hard limiting it to just the above five winners. There were so many others I loved. Rev. Peck’s dog paw tattoo. Cheryl Dillenbeck’s hat. Emily’s acrobatics on the pole. All the dog gear! The stormtrooper reading Bloodline. And on and on! You all rock! Thanks for so much fun!
And speaking of fun….I’m going to announce a NEW contest tomorrow. There’s an Easter Egg buried within the pages of Bloodline. Check back for that contest tomorrow!

The winner should have been Deedra Mann, hands down, as Seichan! The weapon even looks like my .40 S&W SIG Sauer P226. Try Costa Rica for your next locale, lots of interesting fauna and flora LOL.

Opps I guess that's Mary not Deedra as Seichan?

I personally think you did an excellent job in choosing who you did. Is seems we are all very creative, but of course, we all love to read your books, and they keep us on our toes! So Kudos to you and the winner. And if the contest is whether to let them live or die, if you start developing another character then he needs to live, if not, then he must die in this book, sadly. But make him doing something heroic in the process of dying. Let him rescue Kane, or something!
